action focus on trafficked children

asphaleia action are soon to be launching a brand new project working with trafficked children in Sussex and West London.

The project, Buddy Me, will seek to ensure society’s most vulnerable children have an adult mentor who will intervene and support them however they may need it.

Just last week, the BBC ran a story on trafficked children going missing in Hillingdon - up to 70 Chinese children have gone missing from one home since 2006 (read the full article here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8036070.stm) and now Prime Minister Gordon Brown is calling for action.

Trafficking is a delicate issue and here at asphaleia action we are seeking to work with children to find meaningful ways of supporting them in this complex scenario.
