Bake Sale to raise money for Sierra Leone

Last week we held a bake sale to raise money for The Kabor Project in Sierra Leone. The Kabor Project supports underprivileged young women, girls and their children, taking a holistic approach in its work, looking at the emotional, physical needs as well as vocational skills training needs. The Kabor project currently offers training in Catering, Tailoring, Hair Dressing, Handicrafts (Gara tie & dye, bead work), Literacy and Numeracy, Agriculture and Health Education including HIV/AIDS.

Over the next three months asphaleia action have been set a challenge to raise £500 for The Kabor Project. All of the funds raised will go towards a Christmas present for all the young people and women that come into contact with The Kabor Project.

This was our most successful bake sale, with more cake than ever before! We had lemon drizzle, fruit cake, chocolate cake, red velvet, gluten free brownies, flap jacks and amazing fairy cakes (made by a 3 year old)!

As a result of the bake sale we managed to raise an amazing £75 for the Kabor Project!!!

asphaleia action would like to thank everyone who took part, in particular local businesses: Gibbs Gillespie in Uxbridge, Hillingdon Social Services and Leaders in Worthing!
