Celebrate Sons and Daughters month for Fostering

This month we are celebrating the sons and daughters of our foster carers for sons and daughters month! They play a huge role in home life for a fostered child and we are delighted to be able to celebrate their valuable contribution to the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

Let’s introduce you to one of our sons and daughters as they tell us more about offering their home to a fostered child.

What is your favourite part about being a foster sister or brother? Teaching and learning new things with them… playing with them, doing everyday things with them, laughing together or crying together sometimes.

What is the hardest part about being a foster sister or brother? Saying good bye and sometimes listening to them shouting at my parent.

What is something you’ve learned about yourself since your family started fostering? Strength & weakness? I guess I found out that I am stronger than I thought; even though it was hard to say good bye it didn’t stop me from wanting to say hi to the next child. And I guess my weakness is that I don’t always understand others problems and how they affect their lives.

Are you interested in fostering? If so, please give Kim or Tendai a call on 01903 522966.
