CV Writing in Kent

This week in outreach we have worked on employment skills and specifically CV’s. This can be a daunting task, especially for young people who have English as a second language because not only does writing a CV require a use of employment terminology, but also a basic level of IT skills.

We also used this period as a time of reflection to talk about achievements and the skills that the young person has gained and how he should be proud of these. The young person ended the session with a new CV, increased IT and English language skills, increased knowledge of English culture and hopefully, a renewed sense of achievement and confidence.

Referrals are being taken for Outreach support, for enquiries please email referrals@asphaleia.co.uk. This services provides one to one support for young Asylum Seekers and Refugees, teaching them independent living and self care skills. The topics covered vary depending on the areas that theĀ  young person requires support with, thereby creating a package of outreach support that is tailored to meet individual targets and goals.
